Impact of Farmer Field School on Crop Income, Agroecology, and Farmer’s Behavior in Farming: A Case Study on Cumilla District in Bangladesh

چکیده

The Farmer Field School is a season-long training for farmers involving participatory activities and interactive learning with the doctrine of integrated pest management agroecosystem analysis. It has become popular education extension approach worldwide. This study tried to evaluate FFS as vehicle sustainable agriculture which economic viability, ecological soundness, social acceptability. aimed analyze impact on crop income, agroecology, farmers’ behavior in farming. empirical models, such propensity score matching, Mahalanobis distance difference differences, were applied estimating more specifically, real income from brinjal. environmental quotient was used assess agroecological using pesticide, graded response model investigate farmer behavioral changes treatment effect based models shown positive, significant income. findings also revealed that had lower pesticide use, their farming practices improved. Therefore, demonstrated be key strategy strengthening agricultural services, will contribute promoting agriculture.
